Hair Salon Prices in Broomfield, CO

A men's cut at Mahne Roots Collective in Broomfield starts at $58-$69, and our other cuts are priced by length rather than by gender, so the short, medium and long options are open to anyone and the exact figure varies by the stylist you book. Color starts at $55 for a gloss, root touch-ups start at $100, and balayage starts at $190.

Those are the numbers. This page is the part the menu cannot hold: what a color price actually covers, which line to book for what you want, why every figure is a range, and how to get a firm number before you sit down. The full menu also lives on our services and pricing page, and every service below links through to the page that explains it.

A menu price is a starting point

If you have booked a color somewhere, read one figure and paid another, you were not being taken advantage of and you did not do anything wrong. You were reading a price written for an amount of hair, and you brought your own.

The cost of a color service is mostly the product mixed for it and the time it takes to apply, and a menu has to publish one range for something that is physically different on every head. So we publish the starting point and say plainly what moves it.

What a color price covers

Miles puts it in one line: every color price on our menu includes one 40-gram bowl of color. That bowl is the unit the whole color menu is measured on. Hair that needs more than one bowl to be covered properly, because it is thicker, denser or longer, needs extra color, and that extra color is an add-on. A toner on top of the service is an add-on as well, because pulling a demi-permanent color through the ends usually takes a second bowl. So the price varies with how much hair there is, and two people can book the same line and pay different amounts without anything unusual having happened.

It is not a surcharge and it is not decided afterwards. Your stylist can see how much hair is in front of them before anything is mixed, and every appointment starts the same way: we talk through the plan before we start, then we get to work. If your hair is going to take more than one bowl, you hear it then, not at the desk. We do not publish an add-on price, because what it comes to depends on how much extra gets mixed.

If you want this, book that

Your roots have grown out

If the lengths still look right and only the regrowth has gone off, book Root Touch Up, $100-$145. If the ends have gone warm or flat while you waited, book All Over Color / Root Touch Up, $135-$190: the same root application with more time allotted, so a toner or gloss goes over the ends in the same appointment. Both are on the all-over color and root touch-up page. This is where the bowl matters most: a lot of regrowth on long, dense hair can take more than one.

You want to go lighter

Foils lift further and start at the root, so book them for real brightness, a naturally dark base, or a result you want in one visit. Flash Highlight is $125-$175 for a subtle brush of brightness near the part line and hairline, then Partial Foil at $170-$225, 3/4 Foil at $185-$255, Full Foil at $195-$285, and Partial Foil w/ Root Touch Up at $190-$235 if you want the roots covered in the same sitting. The highlights and foils page walks through which is which.

Balayage is painted by eye and never starts in a line, so book it when you want something softer that you can leave alone longer. Partial Balayage is $190-$255 and Complete Balayage is $205-$290 (total blonde, $265-$355); the balayage page covers the difference. Expect either to be toned afterwards, and that toner is an add-on. For an even, all-over lighter shade instead of placed brightness, All Over Blonde is $180-$210. Between color appointments, a Gloss & Shine at $55-$85 refreshes the tone on the color you already have.

You want the grey softened rather than covered

Book Grey Blending, $195-$275. Low-lights are placed through the grey so it reads as dimension rather than a hard silver line, and some grey is deliberately left showing, which is why it grows out without an edge. It is grey-specific: if you want the grey gone rather than softened, the root touch-up or the all-over color is your line. See the grey blending page.

You are fixing box dye, or color that went wrong

Book Color Correction online at $300-$325, the same as any other color service — no consultation required first. What it takes within that range depends on what is already in there, so give us a call after you book so we know what’s going on with your hair ahead of time. Start on the color correction page.

You want extensions

Hand Tied Extension Install is $350-$400 and an Additional Row is $125-$150/row. The hair itself is ordered for you and quoted separately, and bringing existing extensions back up as your hair grows is its own recurring appointment at its own price. A first install is arranged in advance so the hair can be color-matched and ordered. If you already wear extensions and want a move-up, just call and book. The hair extensions page covers the methods.

Why every line is a range

Two things move a price inside its range.

The stylist you book. A stylist a decade into color and a stylist two years in do not charge the same, and flattening them into one published figure would be wrong for both of them and for you. Miles Higgins works in precision cutting, men’s cutting, grey blending and lived-in color. Nicole Higgins is our editorial colorist and takes the blondes, the grey transformations and color correction, which she shares with Jadyn Jester, our senior stylist and manager (also custom color, balayage, highlights, all-over color and vivids), as well as with Ally, Amanda and Miles. Ally does custom color, long haircuts and extensions. Amanda takes color corrections, vivid colors and balayage, along with men's cuts, hand-tied and tape-in extensions and keratin smoothing. Dylan holds the only barbering license on the team and takes fades, precision and short cuts, vivids and natural, lived-in color. The team page has everyone. We run on commission rather than renting chairs out, so those rates sit against one salon standard; here is what that model means for you.

How much hair there is. On the color side that is the bowl. On the cutting side it is the same idea: a partial foil on fine, short hair and one on long, thick hair are not the same job. It is why the three length-based cuts are priced as ranges, $68 to $85 across short, medium and long, and why we bracket cuts by length instead of by gender. A short cut takes what a short cut takes, whoever is in the chair.

How to get a firm number before you book

Call (720) 240-9391 and give the front desk two things: roughly how long and how thick your hair is, and which stylist you want. That is enough to put a real figure on a cut, and on color to say which part of the published range to plan for and whether you are likely to need more than one bowl. If you have colored at home, or your color came from somewhere else, say so on the phone: it is the detail that moves an estimate the most.

Stuck between two lines? Describe the result you want and let us pick the service. Color correction is priced online now, like everything else — give us a call after you book so your stylist knows what's going on with your hair ahead of time. You can also ask in person: we are at 11566 Colony Row in Arista, Broomfield, open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with free parking at the door.

Common questions about our prices

How much is a haircut?

A men's cut starts at $58-$69. The three length-based cuts, short, medium and long, are open to any gender and priced by the stylist you book rather than by a published figure, so call and name the stylist you want. A Child's Cut for 12 and under is $45, and a Shampoo Blowdry is $60-$100. More on the haircuts page and the men's haircuts and grooming page.

How much is balayage compared with highlights?

Partial Balayage is $190-$255 and Complete Balayage is $205-$290 (total blonde, $265-$355). On the foil side, a Flash Highlight is $125-$175, a Partial Foil is $170-$225, a 3/4 Foil is $185-$255 and a Full Foil is $195-$285. The ranges overlap because these are different techniques, not tiers of one: foils hold heat, lift further and can be taken right to the root, and balayage is painted by eye and grows out softer.

Why was my color more than the menu price?

Almost always the bowl. The menu price covers one bowl of color, so hair that needed more than that, or a toner over the top of a lightening service, is priced as an add-on. Longer, thicker and denser hair uses more color and lands higher in its range. You are told before the service starts, never after.

Do you charge for a consultation?

Not for the conversation at the start of the appointment you booked. Talking through your hair and agreeing the plan happens before anything is mixed, and it is part of that service. If you would like to come in just to talk first, you can book a consultation online. The exception is a first-time extensions booking, so the hair can be ordered ahead — color correction now books online with Nicole, Jadyn, Ally, Amanda or Miles like any other color service.

Can I get a quote over the phone?

For a cut, yes, once we know the length and the stylist. For color, we can tell you which part of the published range to plan for and what could push it higher. What we will not do is commit to a figure for correcting somebody else's color unseen. More answers are on our FAQ page.

I want a cut and color in the same visit. How is that priced?

Book it as one of the combined cut and color options rather than as two separate services, so the time is set aside for both. For men, the booking system prices the haircut portion as a women's cut; we adjust it to the men's cut price of $58-$69 at checkout, so you pay the men's rate.
