This page explains, in plain terms, how we handle the security of information connected to our website and booking process. It's meant to complement our Privacy Policy, which covers what we collect and why — this page focuses on how it's protected.

Our website is encrypted

Mahne Roots Collective's website runs on Shopify and is served over HTTPS, meaning the connection between your browser and our site is encrypted.

We don't handle payment card data on our website

Our website itself doesn't process payments or store card information. When you book or buy a gift card on our Book page, that happens inside Vagaro's booking window. Payments made online are processed and stored by Vagaro, not by us. A card saved with Vagaro may be used for a deposit on certain services (including some discounted first-visit services) and under our Cancellation Policy for missed appointments. Vagaro states that it encrypts data both in transit and in storage; its security certifications are listed on the Vagaro Trust Center. Other payments happen in person at the salon.

Third-party services we rely on

We use a small number of established, reputable outside services to run parts of our business, and each one is responsible for securing the data it handles:

• Vagaro — our booking platform, under its own security and privacy practices
• Google Analytics & Search Console — website usage and search visibility tools
• Metricool — used internally to schedule our social media posts

We choose established providers for these roles rather than building our own systems, because it means your information is handled by companies whose whole business is doing that securely.

Appointment texts

Appointment reminders and the occasional review-request text come from our business phone line, which is a standard business texting setup — the same kind used by many local service businesses.
