Mahne Roots Collective is a Broomfield salon, not a Boulder one — we’re in the Arista community, just off US-36, and plenty of our regulars drive down from Boulder for a cut or color they leave happy with. Getting Here From Boulder and the Campuses

We’re at 11566 Colony Row in Broomfield’s Arista community, just off US-36 — the Denver–Boulder Turnpike. From Boulder it’s one road most of the way, and there’s free parking at the door when you arrive.

From CU Boulder’s main campus, plan on about 20 minutes outside rush hour; US-36 carries the whole corridor, so peak times run longer.

From Front Range Community College’s Westminster campus at 3645 W 112th Ave, we’re about 8 minutes away — noticeably closer than CU. From Naropa, it’s the same US-36 corridor.

Colorado Hair, and What It Does to Yours

If you moved here for school or work, you’ve probably noticed your hair behaving differently within a season. It’s the elevation: we’re higher and drier than almost anywhere else in the country, and winter is worse, when thin outside air gets pulled indoors and heated. Color feels it too: more direct sun, and moderately hard water dulling the tone underneath.

A gloss on a schedule between full color services is the most effective fix we know. And altitude doesn’t slow hair growth — what changes is behavior: hair hangs straighter, curls lose spring, volume drops in thin, dry air.
