I really enjoy creating hair that feels personalized to the person sitting in my chair. I love cuts and styling that feel current and elevated while still being wearable. I got into hair because I've always loved creativity and fashion, and I enjoy being able to help people feel more confident in themselves.
I'd describe myself as personable, creative, easygoing, and someone who really wants people to feel comfortable in my chair. I like getting to know my clients and understanding what they actually want instead of making every service feel the same. I want people to be able to relax, be themselves, and leave feeling confident in their hair. I also like keeping things fun and having genuine conversations with the people I work with.
Some of my favorite moments are when someone comes in wanting a change and I can actually see their confidence shift by the time they leave. Seeing someone genuinely excited about how they look is one of the best parts of doing hair. I love getting to know so many different people and having a creative job where every day is different.
I always want to continue improving my advanced color techniques and transformations while staying current with new trends and techniques. One thing I really like about this industry is that there's always something new to learn, so I never want to feel like I'm done improving.
When it comes to color, I love colors that look dimensional and intentional. I'm drawn to natural, lived in tones, rich brunettes, reds with dimension, and colors that complement someone's skin tone and overall style instead of feeling one dimensional.
Outside the salon, I'm really into fashion and upcycling clothes. I enjoy sewing and finding ways to make things feel more unique and personal instead of simply wearing what everyone else has. I also really enjoy long distance running outdoors, the gym, music and learning guitar, and hanging out with Ruby, my pug, who has a huge personality and is definitely a big part of my life.
What do I want someone to feel when they sit in my chair? Comfortable being themselves. Getting your hair done should be something you look forward to, not something that feels intimidating or awkward. I want my clients to know they can tell me what they like, what they don't like, ask questions, laugh, talk, or simply relax. At the end of the day, I want them to leave feeling like themselves, just a little more confident.
