Health, Safety & Sanitation
Effective date: September 27, 2026
Your comfort and safety are part of the experience we've built our salon around. Here's how we approach the health and safety side of what we do — plainly, and without turning it into a sales pitch.
Licensed professionals
Every stylist at Mahne Roots Collective is either licensed through the Colorado Office of Barber and Cosmetology Licensure or an apprentice training toward that license. Any work an apprentice does is overseen by a licensed stylist or educator. Our licenses are displayed in the salon.
Tools and workstations
We use a disinfectant on our tools and implements between clients. If you ever have a question about how something is cleaned, ask your stylist — they're happy to walk you through it.
Allergies and sensitivities
Please tell us about any allergies, sensitivities, or reactions you've had in the past — to hair color, other chemical services, or anything else — before your service begins. This helps your stylist make good decisions about your service and your comfort.
Worried about a reaction to color? Ask for a patch test before you book your color appointment. We'll set up a time for you to stop in for a few minutes while we apply a small amount of color, so you'll know how your skin reacts before your full service.
Product use
Our stylists use professional-grade products and follow each manufacturer's instructions for application and processing time. If you have questions about a specific product before or during your service, just ask.
If you're not feeling well
If you're feeling unwell, please call us at (720) 240-9391 as early as you can. We try to be as accommodating as possible — often we'll simply ask you to wear a mask so you don't have to miss your appointment. If you do need to reschedule, the more notice the better: a same-day cancellation, especially for a longer service, leaves time in a stylist's day that's very hard to fill. Our regular cancellation terms are in our Cancellation Policy.
A shared responsibility
We take sanitation seriously on our end, and we also count on our guests to let us know about anything relevant to their health and safety before a service — that partnership is what keeps everyone's experience a good one.
